I recently booked LGW-POS/GND-LGW in F both ways, but yesterday MyFlights alerted me to an equipment change for the return leg, with no F, so we're in J. Meh. BA haven't contacted me at all, and I'm wondering what to do. My knee jerk reaction was "I need to chase them and get my Avios back!", but then I wondered what might happen if there's another equipment change and F comes back. If I do nothing, would we be automatically put back in it? Do I need to chase BA anyway, or will the Avios automatically be credited back to me? And what if both things happen? I'll be very annoyed if I get the Avios back, only for equipment to change afterwards and we're unable to get back in the cabin we originally booked.
I would be surprised if F comes back. F is being gradually withdrawn from a number of routes and I suspect that the equipment change is part of that process. Caribbean routes with high numbers of leisure travellers vs business would seem an obvious target.
