I read travel privileges as ability to travel on AS, not that its free travel privileges. It all talks about him being an elite member, obviously well known to the FA's. As you know , many elites frequent the same route and become chummy with the crew who may also prefer a specific route. I know i get extra amenities from crew i fly with a lot, though I know none of them would ever overlook something like this.
