Plane changed and premium economy upgrade is no more
Hi, I'm looking for some advice. In May, I booked a flight on Aeroplan points in March from YYZ->YVR. I carefully booked 355 days in advance so that I could be on the 787 in a preferred seat which I paid $104 for knowing the preferred 787 seats were actually premium economy seats (this was before NA premium economy was introduced). When premium economy was introduced in July, they automatically upgraded my reservation to premium economy (I received an email to this effect). A month ago, I checked my flight on the aeroplan website and the plane has been changed to an A320. We still have 'preferred' seats, but they would only have cost $60 each. What should I do? There are planes which depart an hour before or after my plane with premium economy seats - do you think I can get moved to one of them? Should I call Aeroplan or Air Canada? If I can't be moved, is there any chance I can get a partial refund on the preferred seat? Thanks in advance.
