If you wish to use the ER-6 and have maximum benefit in isolation, then I suggest you go to your local audiologist, get them to take molds of your ear canals (a completely painless procedure that takes 10 minutes), and have etymotic adapt their ER-6 into a musician's ER-25 earplug. That will give you 25 dB of isolation, which is significantly better than what the standard earbuds with universal fit sleeves would ever hope to do. You might want to look at the Shure E3c or E5c earphones as well. Or if you just want peace and quiet, then just order custom molded earplugs from your audiologist. You won't believe the improvement in isolation with having custom molded earplugs for your ears.
