I have flown Asiana, ANA, Lufthansa, and Swiss using my new (2 letter+6 number) MP # as recently as two months ago. I would guess that this is a glitch in mapping, and maybe new data was written over by recovered archived data. Try to change the MP# at check-in counter and then hold on to the boarding pass for a possible dispute w/ MP desk.
