Great place.
We had an obstructed view suite on a higher floor which was great for watching monkeys but barely any bay view and it was rather dark all day. Keep balcony doors closed as mosquitoes are quite aggressive (not a surprise for a tropical place).
Just like with most resorts it helps a lot to have free breakfast (try pork belly benedicts!) as it really allowed us to skip lunch and just have an early dinner with fruit/snacks in between. Strangely breakfast fruits were rather average and limited - i boughts soem papayas and bananas from a roadside stand and they were much tastier. Awesome coffee - every kind we tried.. Dinners for 2a+2k were about $100 and quite delicious. We tried marina but saving $30-40 wasn't worth it as quality was much higher at Andaz. Marina bar however offers a nice view to go with a reasonably priced drink at sunset and perhaps some pizza. I bought a couple bottles of wine from dutyfree in LIR and got some snacks/groceries from a place in Playa de Coco to keep costs in check.
Free beach activities were nice - kayak, paddle boards, some other stuff and jetski rental was $60 for half hour which is quite reasonable. Pools were busy midday so we only used them early before breakfast and late after dinner. Kids club got thumbs up from my kids. Spa was pricey (relatively speaking) so we skipped it. Staff was very friendly and helpful everywhere.
For activities we went to papagayo floating and canopy - $30-35 10 cable ziplines (with 3-4 across the river with crocks and waterfall views) and $50-60 atv (much cheaper than witch rock place especially if you have a family). Very peaceful and we were the only people there at the time. They also have rafting and some other stuff but we found them too late to try everything. I think they can do hotel pickup if you dont have an suv to navigate a very rough 7 km road not far from hotel. They are affiliated with congo trail where we did another zipline but it was far more crowded.
