I'd suggest HUCA as well. Not quite the same situation, but I've gone through plenty of schedule changes with an upcoming AA award, and they've gone out of their way to be helpful in reaccommodating me on different AS and AA flights after AS legs have been cancelled--including rebooking me on an AS flight that hadn't shown saver space.
