FWIW, The flight on the way out (A320 with sharklets) had incredibly tight pitch and there was no seat recline! I managed to get a row to myself fortunately as my knees were otherwise touching the seat in front (despite no recline). The flight back did have recline, but felt very crampt with someone next to me (until I moved to an spare double).
Thank you for reporting back on the outcome, I am sure other people will be assisted by your reply. And yes, in terms of seating, Iberia Express is one of the least comfortable airlines in Europe unfortunately.
