I agree with trooper regarding stopping looking. Why people want to do that is beyond my understanding and yet it seems many people do it. To me that is like hoping to be disappointed by seeing a lower price! And you know what, you probably will if you look often enough. Not even 5% of those booking are likely to book at THE lowest price. That means 95% are likely to see a lower price than they booked for. Hilarious.
While I have no illusions about cracking airline pricing patterns, I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to be curious and check. I know airfares go up and down. Sometimes I get a great deal and it goes up the next day and never gets close. Sometimes it drops by half and I curse. But I lIke to know, more data gives me a (likely illusory) sense I can predict better in the future. YMMV
