The only time you can see the fare class availability is in the process of booking a new itinerary. You can't view fare classes, or select a seat for an itinerary that's already booked.
We might be talking about 2 different things here -- there's not always a correlation between what you see on a seat map and what's available for sale, since there can be lots of people without seat assignments.
