2 things to clarify:
ISU/EBL are not affected by the blockade as they are in Iraq. The reason of the cancellations is due to the Iraq CAA suspending international operations at these airports in Kurdistan is in response to the referendum to separate from Iraq, and the Iraq central government has refused to accept it.
2nd - The flights are only 'officially' cancelled until 29DEC17 as that is as far as the Iraq CAA has said the suspension will remain in place. Flights beyond 30DEC17 are still selling as normal and are planned to operate until information to the contrary is received from the Iraq CAA.
Information available at the moment would suggest these flights will also get cancelled in the near future as the situation has not stabilized, as all international flights are affected, I am pretty sure only refunds would be offered due to the lack of reroute options. Perhaps you might get offered a city change to BSR or BGW.

I was a little confused as to the geography and the fact that availability for KSA/Bahrain/Egypt has been zero'd out for months but not ISU/EBL, but the situation is all clear now!
Will book one and hope for a circuitous routing! Can't go wrong with 7500 BA avios...
