thanks. The view of the Vulcan from the stairway that leads into Concorde is amazing.
ETA I will go back in the summer. The wind was so strong and blustery the wind chill was 30 degrees F. It's a long walk from the 1st hangar all the way to the US hangar when traveling with my mom's partner who is in a wheelchair.
I wanted to see the VC-10 and BAC111 up close but it was too cold.
Concorde was beautiful and like the ability to walk through the fuselage seeing the circa '68 computers.
From what I read inside it appears that was an active RAF base until 1961 (?).
We ate at the restaurant on site. It was some of the worst food I've ever had and they should be ashamed to serve it. The "chicken" breast was a flat hockey puck, bone dry, and and really didn't resemble chicken at all. The "brioche" bun (I know this is a big now in england LOL) was days old and fell apart from being stale. Shame on the staff.
