Again ordered a special VGML meal due to an interest in leaning toward a plant-based diet (vegan essentially). No dietary restrictions due to allergies or other reasons. Standard meal choices were salmon or steak with rice. FA did not acknowledge my special meal request until I reminded her when she shared the day's offerings. Once confirmed she advised that there was a delicious meal for me today. Unfortunately, it was put into an inoperable oven so I was served last despite being in row 1 with orders and service going front to back.
Meal was a warm vegetable plate consisting of spinach/onions, zucchini/red bell peppers, roasted sweet potatoes and some unknown 'muffin' of sorts; I'd say it was something grain-based with possibly some eggplant. All of it was tasty. For the roll in lieu of butter, Country Crock was served which unfortunately contains whey (a milk derivative). The salad dressing served was Balsamic Vinaigrette from Naturally Fresh which as well contains milk - in this case dry nonfat milk as an ingredient and clearly noted on the allergen statement. The latter was odd since the main meals throughout the cabin were served with the balsamic vinegar/olive oil little bottles which would have been more appropriate. Fruit as a sub for ice cream. Another whoops which could be a challenge for some.
