Another thing is when the plane shown is from an airline that doesn't fly to that airport or even region. Again, whenever I point this out, my girlfriend gives me that "You are so weird" look.
It's gotten bad enough that when Mrs TarheelNJ sees a plane in a TV show or movie we're watching, she proactively says "don't even think about it." There's a 1998 remake of the movie "The Parent Trap" where at the end of the movie one twin & her Dad beat the other twin and her Mom from Napa Valley, CA to London by taking the Concord. First time we saw that scene I launched into a dozen reasons why that couldn't have happened (no Concord from CA, they never could have connected to the Concord in NYC in time to beat the nonstop, the apparent arrival time of day of the other plane was wrong, etc.). My experience was not, let's say, appreciated.
Tech companies have communities of beta testers for their products. Maybe FT'ers could preview movies with airplane shots and address any obvious (to us) errors.
