So I just had the fairly obvious idea to sign my wife up to Marriott Rewards as well to take advantage of this offer as 2 free night certs would make a drive down to LA worthwhile.

I'm wondering if anyone anticipates this being an issue:

1 nt @ hotel under my name
1 nt @ same hotel under wife's name

1 nt @ new hotel under my name
1 nt @ same new hotel under wife's name

Can anyone think of a good reason why that might not work out?

We would check in separately... and avoid having to switch hotels every other night.

Only downside is that we earn more MR points by staying at Starwood properties (plus 1K bonus promo which could be applied to each of our SPG accts) but now that I've registered her for a Marriott Rewards acct, I'm sure we can make up the difference in points easily through the Sunday NFL promotions.
