As I think about it now, with some of my experience, if you request a change to an earlier billing date now, you may risk getting a shorter billing period (after the 15th, change it to the 5th, and get a 12/5 billing date) but if you wait until after 12/5 and say you want a due date of the 2nd, they act promptly and extend the current period until Jan. 5.
