I've stayed on Sentosa a few times. Agree with the sense of isolation and the theme park feel. But...this theme park had a part to play in Singapore's history. My upcoming visit is during the week at the newly reflagged Le Meridien (which used to be the Movenpick, which used to be an army barracks). Besides being sort of unique, it's a bargain during the week. That always helps in Singapore's overpriced hotel universe.
