The only rational solution is to don the vest. You'll be extra-prepared in the event of an emergency. Also, the vest may be easier to clean should you get tomato sauce or melted chocolate chip stains on it. Inflation is not recommended for a long list of reasons. Kindly be sure to return the vest for the next flight. (Coping with droop is an individual decision.)
