Yes, I think it will be due for an u/grade in the coming years but I find it a far better hotel and value than the airport.
Only minor downside is that the general manager moved on a short time ago. He was outstanding. Always seemed to be visible. Set a great example to his team.
Totally agree if you are travelling at less than peak travel times or with hand luggage only then the I C Sandton at effectively half the price of the airport hotel but with a suite upgrade, decent club, fabulous service etc etc. Even with tne Gautrain or return transfers the IC Sandton is both better and cheaper as a RA it really is no contest.

if you aren't going to upgrade a RA at least have the bloody decency to tell the about it well in advance rather than passing off the room they booked as an upgrade.
