Is Hilton Silver status worth $100?

I currently have three Hilton stays this year, with none scheduled for the rest of the year. I’m currently a Hilton Gold through a status match promotion. I’m not a very loyal hotel customer as I book based on location, event (conference, wedding, etc), availability, TripAdvisor reviews, etc. While I have SPG and Marriott Gold through a credit card I believe I have done 8 or 9 nights total in Marriwood this year. All that said, I’ve been pretty impressed with my points earnings in recent Hilton stays due to their double promotion (40,000 points over 5 nights). I’m wondering if I should devote more spending to Hilton. To that end, does it make sense for me to book a local NYC stay on a Sunday night or something for $90 or $100 to make sure I have at least Silver next year, or is Silver not worth if? Not sure if I want another AMEX card.
