I has to make a last minute work trip to Boston and was staring at paying over $1k for middle seats both directions, and not a prayer of a upgrade for even Comfort+. Fortunately, I had a SkyBonus certificate burning a hole in my Delta wallet and I was able to get it confirmed at booking for the outbound. So, instead of sitting in seat 79B, I was able to have a nice first class seat and a decent breakfast. I was sharing a flight with a fellow company VP, so I had to be extra good and not even have a single mimosa. So it was all straight OJ for me. Service was attentive, if a bit perfunctory. The food came promptly and they kept my OJ refilled and offered extra water bottles regularly. All-in-all, not bad for my second-to-last flight of the year.
Entree: Turkey sausage, cheddar and egg sandwich
Side: Mixed fruit
Dessert: Strawberry yogurt
Drink: Orange juice
The meal:
Verdict: I thought this sandwich was a little better than my last one, which was the ham and egg sandwich on a less substantial bread. It was warm and the bread wasn't soggy. It's not an especially large breakfast, but it was a decent start to my day.
Other thoughts: My seat neighbor decided my seat was the place for him to store, well, everything. Blanket, pillow, his bags. He did remove his bag when I sit down, but couldn't be troubled to deal with his own pillow and blanket. Where do people get their manners these days?
