I think everyone should take personal responsibility for their own needs as much as possible. However I also recognize there are things people can't always plan for. There's a lot of room between "everyone should conform to my needs so I don't have to think about them" and "be considerate of others."

(and for the record I am fortunate not to have any allergies whatsoever so if people want to eat nuts around me or bring well-behaved pets, well, go nuts )
