I looked out my window and it was a pair of Spitfires flying by preparing for an air show. It was quite a treat to see them in the air over the English countryside. A few minutes later a thundering noise came by and it was two F-111s flying low. They were very loud.
I was in a local field walking the dogs with my mom back in May in Kent and heard the unmistakable roar of the RR Merlin engined spitfire fly overhead. It was a beautiful sight. It is amazing to think 75 years earlier in the same place they weren't joy riding!
