80K miles needed for award out of which 2K will be returned and I have 78K
I need 80K for a roundtrip award. currently I have 78K in my account and I have Citi AA card, which gives back 10% upto max. of 10K in a calendar year. I already got 8K back from another award so I can get back another 2K.

Can I book this ticket now, or will I have to wait to get another 2K so I get 80K first and then book the ticket?
