Moving from USA to Europe - excess baggage

Hi -

Next spring / summer we will be moving to Budapest Hungary. We're looking at taking the non stop on LOT from Chicago to Budapest, originating in Seattle.

On a LOT biz class ticket three bags at 32KGs each are allowed with no fee. Any bag over that is on "call in and see if they have space" request. LOT could allow 2 extra bags (at a fee of course) or ten extra bags - at about $100/bag. It's all dependent on availability.

We've looked at Lufthansa, however they only allow one extra bag over their two bag limit for business class, and it's $200.

We'd book this on United miles.

My question is: we're originating from Seattle and would take a Seattle - ORD positioning flight on United. If LOT would allow, say four extra bags, would United as well? And what would the fee be? Or would the United baggage conditions (2 bags at 32kgs each) apply?

SEA - ORD on United Economy (no first availability)
ORD - BUD on LOT Business Class

I called up United and they were no help at all. They transferred me to baggage, I took a minute explain what my question was...and the guy said it was the delayed baggage department.

Any other ideas/suggestionsairlines are more than welcomed.
