So I'm just basing from experience but I've booked round trip rental from a air port location then would change the drop off location to a neighborhood location with no price difference. If I had booked from airport to neighborhood location then the rental cost would have been higher.

I'll be flying to SFO for the holidays and want to drive down to LA and fly out of LAX when my trip is over. One way rental from SFO to LAX for the duration is about $250-300 more before taxes and fees then round trip. To compare it would be cheaper to just fly from SFO to LAX for $40 a ticket. Flying would be nicer but my fiance and I wanted to check out California between NorCal and socal.
