The UK power adapter that you'll have from London should also work for The Maldives! The Park Hyatt has universal plugs by the bedside, so you wouldn't need it there, but I believe the bathroom has the regular UK plugs (at least in the water villas). That adapter will also serve you well in the airport lounge while you're waiting for your connecting domestic flight.
The beach on the side of the island near villas 12/14 was great during our visit last month! My understanding is that the beach near villas 20-26 is also good year-round.
