I'd call again and ask someone else. I just changed (last week) my 7 night cert (Cat. 7) from the Puerto Vallarta resort and instead of applying it to my new reservation as I asked they cancelled it and gave my 105K points instead.

No big deal as I just called them up and got it fixed, but they obviously can redeposit those certs if they want to.
