My wife once bought a shopping trolley while we were somewhere in Europe (MAD I think) because it was snazzy looking and like no other she'd ever seen. I warned her it would have to be checked in and likely arrive in bits so she would only have herself to blame but it arrived in one piece.
Several weeks later we found the exact same make of trolley for sale in Glasgow at a similar price.

As yours is classed as a mobility aid I'd just take it to the aircraft and let cabin crew look after it.
