The time that it takes to drive to the airport - from whichever downtown hotel you select - is almost entirely dependent upon Bangkok traffic. The airport is approximately 30 kms from downtown; the ride can take anywhere from a relatively painless 40-45 mins to 90 mins if traffic is bad to much longer if there's a torrential downpour that floods the streets.
