It's a legal requirement, it won't go anywhere near court since actually BA are fairly swift in this area. Shorts in EDI today isn't what I would have bought, it's a bit chilly around here. But there again even BA may have drawn the line if you had bought a tartan kilt instead [but would allow you to blend into the CCR nicely]. Reasonable expenses means exactly that, up to approximately £1300. The only situation I can recall that BA queried was when some bought a top of the range wheelie to use as a hand baggage item. If this happens to someone else then don't hesitate to raise it here, there are plenty of EDI locals who can direct you to a large M&S less than 2 miles from the airport at South Gyle (and, er, a George and George emporium). At LHR there are similar options not far from the terminals.

Normally if this sort of thing happens either the crew say something on board (usually at the end of the flight!) or you get a text message if your privacy settings allow it. But on a short service I guess this just didn't happen.
