I'm sure it's a lovely hotel. But if you want to experience Bangkok I'm not sure that hotel is going to do it for you. You could be in any hotel room in any city.

As I said above, I'd highly recommend a hotel with a roof-top bar. You don't need to leave the hotel but can have a great meal and enjoy uninterrupted views across the whole of Bangkok.
