But if all the major airlines participated, they would all benefit. It’s kind of like interline agreements. Delta probably doesn’t like bailing out United when UA screws up and a flight goes MX, but Delta knows one day they’re going to have a flight go MX and need UA to bail them out. Like the saying goes, keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.
