People on OWE's shouldn't feel tied to their OW ticket. Open jaws are allowed and a short hop within Europe for USD100 or so (in coach, as you mention not really different from biz) will save a couple of hours and would have reduced the price of your OWE ticket by one LHR departure tax, which I think is GBP40 in the premium cabins.
