- 225K +67.5K (this promo) for a total of 292.5K AP
or
- become 540K Marriott and then 240K AP + 2 x 7-night cert

So, you are trading 52.5K AP for 2 x 7-night certs. Let assume you only ever stay for 5 nights per cert, that will be 26.25K AP per 5-night stay, hence 5.25K AP per night.

Off course, you can also transfer this to all other partners that Marriott has available.

For the AMEX MR, you will start at 360K AMEX MR, so, going to 292.5K AP or 240K + 2 x 7-night certs.

I don't think I will go for it this time myself. But hopefully the above info will help someone make their decsion.
