Just a note that I had success in using this card in an NS (Netherlands train/metro) kiosk at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam). The kiosk didn't recognize my chip and PIN credit card as valid - and that PenFed card the normally works fine in Europe. So I tried my updated Fidelity Cash Management Debit Card with chip, and it worked like a champ!

This is a big deal as these French ticket machines are notorious for not accepting US issued VISA chip credit cards - even those with embedded PINs.
Do we have an explanation for this? Chip-pin CC not working, but debit card working, how come?
2. Does this mean the debit card had offline pin?
