Thinking of a hotel to redeem a free night cert. Unfortunately, deadline is April and, as I had been told by Marriott US support, they won't extend it. Otherwise I'd happily used it for either of major Bangkok Marriotts in summer.

Leaving Bangkok aside, I will be going through Hanoi, KL, Bali, possibly Jakarta or Surabaya, possibly Hong Kong, definitely Tokyo and Osaka (but nothing there within cat 5). I may burn the cert in KL, but considering comparatively low cash rates there, I'd rather use it elsewhere.

In Bali and HK I can only get a Courtyard, which doesn't seem inspiring. In Hanoi, Jakarta or Surabaya I can get a night in JW. So, any of these three are worthwhile? JW Hanoi seems to make perfect sense if compared to cash rate, but location seems to be in the middle of nowhere, and also I can book Sheraton for just 3k points or choose the brand new IC Landmark and get an Ambassador upgrade. On the other side, I won't have much comparable options in Jakarta, but JW there seems to be somewhat dull.
