Besides, my barber is a woman ... and a different one pretty much every time.
Even when I had the same barber for years (and he was a personal friend of mine outside of work), we
never discussed anything of personal significance -- certainly not in the barber shop, which is a public place.
In general, guys just don't do that. I think that's why they invented sports, so we guys wouldn't just grunt at each other.
