There is an account to charge. Closing a credit card doesn't eliminate Chase's ability to bill you.
I dont know how quickly Chase and PP membership updated when customer cancels the sponsor Chase card.
However I did see someone tried to gain access with a PP card at an International location and the card was declined. Person was told something which apparently he did not want to do and just walked out.
