I applied for a new AA platinum on 10/18, approved on 10/20, never gotten an email about the application or the approval until.... this morning i received the approval email and application email both at the same time, they are using a new format for the application status, wonder if it has anything to do with the delay in email.

the new Application Status Link gives the option to check the status in 2 different ways:

• Application ID and your ZIP Code,
  or
• Use your Primary Phone Number, ZIP Code and Month and Year of Birth.
  New status Link Phone-Zip-Bday

The 2nd method didn't work for me, may be they are still working on it.
