Toll free numbers in the US use ANI to capture inbound phone numbers, so using something like *67 wasn’t blocking much of anything when calling AA’s toll free numbers in the US. But perhaps Skype calls from those without Skype phone numbers weren’t getting AA the information AA wanted.
I have proper caller ID info on my Skype line - meaning it has a Skype number on that line - just re-verified it by calling my mobile phone from it and the CID info is correct.
