I get to go to Funchal once a year approximately, I now try to add a day or two on to my visits, and I have to say that though it has a reputation for being a place only suitable for old dears, it really is a lovely place in terms of weather, things to do and places to eat. So if you're looking for some February sunshine it is worth putting on the list.
