For OW purposes, AA has actually done some interesting expansion from ONT. A late-night ONT-DFW is regularly on the schedule as well as the ONT-ORD service. LSG (from the Orange County center) caters to ONT so fresh meals for longer flights are possible (and was likely key for the China Air decision).

As noted, no lounges, but then again, you should never need to arrive more than 60 minutes before a flight. There are some new restaurants coming in to both terminals as well.

You just have to decide where you want to stop en-route..
