I just did a bid for a friend in Paris and we got the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, a 4*, for $68 a night for 3 nights at the end of June. It's in Union Square East. We started at $60 and added free rebid zones in areas without 4*'s until hitting at $68. We did NOT bid Union Square West as he did not want that zone, and it had 4*'s.

We also did one night at SFO and hit on the Hyatt Regency there (3*) for $35 a night. He's stayed out there before and taken BART in from SFO, so you have to allow for hotel shuttle to SFO, then BART into downtown (maybe 45-60 mins depending on connections), if you want to stay out that way.
