Do you know what suite you booked? They have 3 that are listed as "Standard Suites" but I think there's a clear hierarchy within that group. Were you able to confirm a Sea View Suite? I'd be booking the suite with points (48k/night) and want to see if that confirmation would be available.
That is brand new! They just opened until 1/15 as you said! I have been checking everyday as well! Of course I need 1/17-1/21
I am currently booked in the beachside king using Citi prestige 4th night free and confirmed in the sea view suite with my TSU. The rate is $568 a night plus their absurd 20% tax (10 % tax and 10% service fee) I honestly just want them to open the base room so I can save $100 a night as the park room is that much cheaper than the beachside. I dont think I would use 30k points at a $468 rate (really 468 *3) since I would rather use prestige and get stay credits.

As far as your question is concerned yes officially you can book a seaview with 48k points a night but they didnt allow me to do it when points stays were not available but now that they opened you should be able to do it on stays up until 1/15 but not after even though the suite is available.
They will tell you the BS that only a certain amount of suites are available for points bookings and they are sold out of those. But once they open it for points it will work.
One last point. There doesnt seem to be a difference between their standard suites other than the view so I dont get the huge hike in price between them.
