This explains a lot to me. A couple of months ago I booked a flight on delta.com in PE on VS; it was a Delta codeshare with a G fare. Then I upgraded with SkyMiles to Upperclass. The new itinerary changed from the codeshare to the VS flight but still showed a G fare. Now I understand that it was no longer Delta’s G fare, but the VS G fare.
