By law, you are entitled to a refund since there was a change in operating carrier. If there is an alternative itinerary that is operated by VS, Delta will generally agree to rebook you on it in your original class of service for free if you request. There should be a VS operated flight to LHR from ATL at a different time, but if not, you could connect through another city.
