Booking on Expedia or other OTA will (officially) prevent you from claiming Honors-Diamond benefits as the property now needs to pay commission fees to the OTAs.

Some properties do in nonetheless but I would not expect much.

For these "overlapping" requirements, I typically book under another program and avoid the hassles.
