Back in the day, many hotels would allow us to put a CL attendant tip, a bellman tip and a valet tip on the bill. This meant it was always easily reimbursed and tracked and kept me from needing cash during the week. Most hotels no longer allow this. It stopped at about the same time cashing checks at the front desk went away, which was another perk that made life easy and service-charge free. Now you need to either pay the fee for the hotel ATM or find your bank's ATM nearby if you don't have a bank that reimburses.
