Apparently yes.

Seriously when Mythbusters has used duct tape to do many crazy things, I would say they are anecdotal evidence that duct tape can solve every problem.

The problem was the O2 mask door, which I believe if the door cannot be shut properly, O2 will start coming out from the mask. So the duct tape shutting the door would solve the issue.

But once it was shut by duct tape, the safety of the impacted pax could be compromised. Hence, the O2 bottle.
